520			_aThe evidence of links between Attica and Cyprus in the Late Bronze Age come mainly from the cemetery of Perati and can be dated from the end of the 13th century B.C. Nevertheless, there are a few more finds, though limited, that can support the hypothesis that these contacts have started earlier, during the Mycenaean koine, in the 14th and the 13th century, this material was found in cemeteries at the west coast of Attica, in Vari/Varkiza and Alyke (Voula), and in Salamis. From Vari/Varkiza cemetery come an Old Babylonian cylinder seal, with secondary engraving dated to the 14th century B.C., of North Syrian of Cypriot origin, a scarab of faience with the depiction of a seated griffin, of Syropalestinian of Cypriot origin, and fragments from tow kraters painted with bulls that suggest the use of parallel prototypes. The composistion of a single lady who sniffs a flower on a small jug from Alyke can be connected to older iconographic traditions known from vases found in Cyprus. Finally, from a chamber tomb in Salamis, recently published, come fragments from an amphoroid krater, a rare type on mainland Greece, painted with a bird among typical LH IIIB Mycenaean flowers.
