N2  - The annual transfer of corn from Egypt to Constantinople followed a sea-roude via the islands of Cyprus, Rhodes, Chios and Tenedos.  We already know that ships transporting corn from Constantinople made stops at Chios and Tenedos but so far, we have no information for similar port-stations in Rhodes or Cyprus.  It is my conviction that the early Christian settlement on the west coast of Cyprus, Drepanon, was one of these ports where ships transporting corn from Egypt stopped on their way to Constantinople
