Σε: Πρακτικά του Διεθνούς Αρχαιολογικού Συνεδρίου Από τον Ευαγόρα στους ΠτολεμαίουςΠερίληψη: This paper presents some tomb-groups recently excavated in the city and the region of Pafos, which date from the Late Classical to the Early Hellenistic period, with the scope of defining the topography of Pafos and its surrounding area at the time of its foundation. Burial customs are also discussed as well as some pottery shapes, typical fo the region of Pafos, and their possible connection with other areas, is examined. It is hoped that this topic will add some information, with the aim of filling in the gap which exists in our knowledge for that critical period of transition from the Cypriot kingdoms to the Ptolemaic rule. The large number of tombs dated to this transitional period, which come to light very often and provide us with rich material, is in contrast with the results of excavations in the two main centres of the region, Pafos and Palaipafos, which have not yiedled important evidence for tha period.
